Tutorial 2: The Bouncing Ball in Color
- Create a bouncing ball as described here.
- Move the time line marker to the first frame of animation.
- Select the paint tool from the tool bar.
- Move the paint tool over the line that you've drawn and click. NOTE: Do not click in the center of the circle, click on the line that makes up the circle. You will notice a semi transparent shape the color of the currently selected paint color.
- Move your paint tool over this shape and you will see your mouse cursor change to this . Click here to fill the shape. NOTE: If you click away from any lines or shapes as described here , the semi-transparent shape will disappear and you will need to reselect the group of lines that make up the shape you want to fill.
- Hit ENTER or the play button to watch the animation. Hit them again to stop it. Notice that the shape you colored is being shown in all frames! No need to color them individually with TweenMaker. If you wish to change a shape's color, simply select the paint tool and pick a color by clicking and dragging from the paint color box. Then click on a shape when the paint bucket symbol appears to change its color. Click here for more information on the paint tool.
- If you don't want the line to show up in the animation, you may right click on the line with the edit tool and select “Make Line Invisible”. To make the line visible again, just right click on it with the edit tool and select “Make Line Visible”. NOTE: This must be done for every line in every frame that has been draw as a visible or invisible line. If you make the first line you draw invisible, lines in subsequent frames that correspond to that line will also be invisible. The same holds for the coloring of the lines.
Well it's a pretty color now, but not very “bouncy”. The next tutorial will explain how to add motion to your inbetweens.
