Tutorial 4: The Bouncing Ball with Better Timing
- Create a bouncing ball as described here.
- Now open the tween spacing window by selecting it from the “Window” menu. The tween spacing window shows the spacing of the inbetweens between the current and next key frames.
-
Now adjust the spacing of the inbetweens by clicking and dragging the arrows on the side of the window. You may also select and drag individual tween makers for more fine tuned adjustment.
NOTE: you can change between a horizontal and vertical view of the tween spacing by changing the size of the tween spacing window to be more horizontal than vertical or vice versa. -
Moving a bunch of tweens toward a key frame slow the motion around that key frame. Play around with the timing until the animation moves how you would like.
NOTE: You can play the animation while adjusting the timing to get immediate feedback on the timing.
Well now we have a pretty good bouncing ball with nice color motion and timing. Now it's time to step in and add the life to this bouncing ball that only the animator can do. The next tutorial explains how to add life to a bouncing ball.
